Branded

After being shot in 2010, I spent a good bit of life questioning the theories of safety and security. Were they both a delusion? where they something that man made up to help them sleep at night? After all, no one can predict and prevent every dangerous thing from happening to them. I became terrified. Even more terrified than the night I stared down the barrel of a shot gun. But that's for another chapter. I felt the urge to adapt to a fearful lifestyle, where always airing on the side of caution with every single decision I made in my life. I branded two scriptures on my arms: on my left arm, written in black in, cursive writing, shadowed by shading and a lily flower was the scripture Joshua 1:9 "...Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid..." On my right arm was inked Psalm 46:5 "God is within her, she will not fall."
